Just what do vegetarians eat? Well first we must understand that there are many different types of vegetarians. So it really depends on what type they are as to what they eat.
But for a broad and easy definition you could say that vegetarians eat a diet that is based on plant food sources. For example: vegetables, fruits, grains, pastas, legumes, nuts, seeds, bread, and crackers.
It could also depend on the reason that a person became a vegetarian. For some it is all about the animals and their treatment. Some just do not like meat. But probably the biggest reason is for the health.
The types of foods that vegetarians eat contribute to the lowering of cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduced risk of cancer and heart disease.
So there is no easy answer to “what do vegetarians eat”? First you have to know what type of vegetarian you are talking about. It also helps to know why they became a vegetarian.
